Maybelline Brick Bronzer and Highlight duo | REVIEW

Before getting into this post I just wanted to say this product has been kindly gifted to me by HashtagBlogger who I have recently become an ambassador for and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity, however all opinions are my honest and real opinion.

i received the Maybelline bronzer and highlight brick duo in the shade 001. I would usually opt for a darker shade for my bronzer however this is a perfect shade for my ‘no makeup days’ where I don’t want to look like I have makeup on but still want to bronze up my face or just want a more natural coloured bronzer.

I love compact products that have more than one purpose they are so handy to carry in your bag on the go to save you taking multiple different items.

The bronzer in this is such a lovely shade, I use it on top of my liquid bronzer and it intensifies the colour without looking muddy or grey like you can get with a lot of bronzers.

I don’t actually use the highlight as a highlighter I swirl my brush round and use it for my blusher to add a healthy colour into my face, as for my highlighter I personally like something darker and more intense however if you like a subtle glow then this would be perfect for you! The best thing about the highlight is that it is not glittery at all which I tend to find with a lot of highlight products, it gives off a lovely shimmer.

I would highly recommend this product, it is so affordable and you get 2 products in 1?! I would definitely rate this a strong 8/10. Go give it a try girls! X

Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick | REVIEW

Yes I am late to the hype with this product but it was so hard to get hold of, I managed to grab one about 3 weeks ago and like to test it for a couple of weeks before giving a true opinion.

DSC_1655edit

Now, when it comes to stick foundations I am not the biggest lover, I have previously tried the Makeup Forever HD foundation stick after hearing sooo many good things about it but I absolutely hated it and with the near £30 price point it just wasn’t worth it in my eyes. But I am a big lover of Revolution makeup and at only £5 I just had to try this foundation stick.

This foundation comes in 18 shades which is amazing for the drugstore as usually there are only about 7/8 different shades? I picked up F8 which on the Superdrug website is described as being for ‘medium skin tones with yellow undertone’ I always wear fake tan so always look for a foundation with a yellow undertone rather than pink.

DSC_1659edit.jpg

I have quite dry skin so was sceptical before using this as I usually tend to go for a liquid foundation that I can blend in with a sponge. I used a budding brush to blend the foundation in and then went over it with a damp sponge. I heard that this foundation was very dewy and easy to move around so it needed setting but with my skin type I very rarely set my face with a powder as my foundation never moves and I don’t want to dry out my skin even more so the first time I used it I didn’t set it and after about 6 hours it had started to go very oily and even coming off my chin.

The next time I used it I did use a setting powder but only where the foundation came away before and it lasted well but I still wasn’t overly impressed with the product. However after a couple more uses I realised how much I actually prefer it to some of my higher end foundations! Everyone needs to try this foundation and now I am excited to try the foundations from the Revolution Pro range!

Makeup Revolution – Conceal and Define concealer | REVIEW

Okay so everyone and their dogs are talking about this makeup revolution conceal and define concealer at the minute, it is such a hyped product and for only £4 it is an absolute steal.

DSC_1305 EDIT.jpg

I went in to my local superdrug to pick one up and went for the shade C3, I like my under eye to be quite bright and this was the lightest one that didn’t have pink undertones however I do want to get shade C6 for when I have tanned or just want less of a bright undereye.

DSC_1152 EDIT.jpg

Of course, the same as everyone else as soon as I saw the doe foot applicator I thought of the tarte shape tape concealer but for a fraction of the price. The formula is so thick but also creamy and very blendable. I use a damp beautyblender for my concealer because I always tend to crease so don’t like too much product, I struggle to find a concealer due to this reason however the Makeup Revolution concealer is by far the best – yes I still crease but compared to other products it is very minimal.

I would recommend anyone to go and buy this concealer, it is such a bargain! I can see 2018 being a very good year for Makeup Revolution…

My Tanning Routine

DSC_0030edit.jpg

I have been obsessed with using fake tan for years, my first tan being St Moriz (if you know, you know) When I was around 15. I am now 21 and think it’s safe to say i’ve had my fair share of disasters but feel like I have spent enough years experimenting to find a routine that works well for me.

The first thing I do when it comes to tanning is soak in the bath the night before and shave, exfoliate and all that jazz. I always shave the night prior as otherwise I find it stings and doesn’t go on as well as it should because of my pores being open, the reason I get a bath instead of shower is so I can fully soak my body to make sure I remove any old tan before I put a fresh layer on.

So the night after that I will tan, I prefer to tan on the night so I can sleep in it and it will develop as I sleep rather than being a sticky mess all day and having to worry about what to wear etc. A few hours before I will moisturise my face as this acts like a barrier cream and stops it clinging to any dry patches and by putting it on a few hours before it sinks into the skin more. I will also put some on my elbows, knees and any dry areas I may have just before tanning to stop build up.

My favourite ever tan is the cocoa brown one hour tan, I have been using this tan for a good 2 years now and it is honestly the best I have tried although I do branch out to try new ones, nothing so far has ever beat this.

Too Faced chocolate bar palette

dsc_0168

So for christmas I finally got the Too Faced chocolate bar palette that I have been lusting over for months and I can happily say it doesn’t disappoint!

First of all the packaging is gorgeous, Too Faced are known for their beautiful packaging they never fail to disappoint with it. The mirror is very handy in the palette, not many high end palettes include one so I was really happy when I opened it up and saw it.

IT SMELLS OF CHOCOLATE!!! What better combo than makeup and chocolate?! As soon as I opened it I could smell it straight away, it smells soooo good. Seriously.

Now, the actual product…

The colours are all gorgeous, I am still yet to use some of the shimmer shades as I keep going for either the pinks or gold but I will try them all eventually. I love how they all have names it makes life so much easier when telling people how you created the eye makeup you’re wearing. They blend like an absolute dream, I thought my morphe palette was amazing until I got this, it has made me realise that actually the morphe shadows are really chalky and not very easy to blend at all. You can really tell that this product is more luxurious.

dsc_0173

You really can just use this one palette for a look as there are perfect colours for every part of the eye. For example I use white chocolate to set my primer, I then use salted caramel for my crease colour and the first transition colour, I then gradually go in with milk chocolate and semi sweet focusing more on the outer corner and building it and finally using triple fudge only on the outer corner to darken it, of course I then take one of the shimmers (usually either marzipan or creme brulee) all over the lid. p.s – see how much easier that was to explain because the shadows have names?

At £39 it is quite a steep purchase but trust me it is worth every penny. Although I did get this bought for me I will still be going out and buying the semi sweet palette because I am so impressed with this. There is nothing I can fault it on.

Thanks for reading and let me know any other palettes you have that are worth trying out!!

My skincare routine

Having a consistent skincare routine is so so important to keeping your skin looking fresh and glowy. I’ve decided to share the products I am using at the minute and absolutely loving.

After trying out so many drugstore products that just do not work for me I decided to splurge on some more high end products. I feel like you can’t really put a price on skincare as it is so important. Of course if drugstore stuff works for you then go you! but for me it just doesn’t work on my skin. I picked up this Liz Earle set specifically for dry/sensitive skin in my local boots store for £45 which includes the very famous cleanse and polish, skin tonic, moisturiser, an exfoliator and two muslin cloths.

dsc_0105

I don’t use makeup wipes to remove my makeup as they do not remove all the product at all and also they’re just so so drying on my face. So the first thing I do is just wash my face with water to remove most of my makeup then I pump some of the cleanse and polish on to my fingers and rub it in to my face and then wipe my face with a wet muslin cloth.

dsc_0100

The next step I do is take a cotton wool pad and pour some of the tonic boost on to it and rub this all over my face, this step always shocks me as you look at the pad after and see how much makeup is on there even after you thought it was all off, another reason why makeup wipes are no good!!

DSC_0102.JPG

Then I use the moisturiser and oh my god my face feels amazing! It leaves your skin feeling so hydrated but it also soaks in quite quick which is what I like. I think this is now my holy grail moisturiser, up until now it was always the benefit one for me but this one is 100 times better!

dsc_0099-edit

I do this routine every night but not every morning as my skin is quite sensitive I don’t like to overload it with products. Sometimes I will do it in the morning it all just depends on how my skin is at the time but usually I just wash my face with water and apply my moisturiser.

I don’t use the exfoliator everyday, I use it about once a week it depends on how my skin is as although I got the set specifically for dry/sensitive skin the exfoliator is just for any skin type so I don’t want it to be too harsh for my skin.

DSC_0103.JPG

Aswell as using these liz earle products I also drinks lots of water, at least 2 litres a day and I wear factor 50 suncream every single day on my face, so many people underestimate how much damage the sun actually does to your skin even in the winter , wearing suncream will help keep your skin looking youthful. I do also suffer from an allergy to the sun causing my face to come out in a rash which is why I use such a high factor. I have the sunsense sun cream which is not oily at all it leaves your skin with a slight glow and it can be worn alone or under makeup, I really recommend it for a face suncream!

Thanks for reading and feel free to leave a comment telling me your best skincare products! I’m looking for some good face masks at the minute so please recommend!!

Morphe 35T Palette

So I recently purchased this palette on BeautyBay after lusting over the 35o palette but it being out of stock EVERY single time I wanted to order it so I decided to get my hands on a different one after hearing so many good things about these palettes.

just look at how pretty it is!

IMG_7533 edit.jpg

First of all, the price. How can you go wrong with 35 eyeshadow colours, yes 35!! for only £21 it is an absolute steal!

The one thing that would make this palette even better would be if it included a matte black as every time I want to do a really dark smokey eye I have to go to another one of my palettes just for a black so it’s quite inconvenient having to take two palettes when travelling. However, you can make a nice smokey eye still by building up the brown colours.

Below is a look I quickly created on my little sister (she is growing out her eyebrows so the hearts were needed) but the colours are sooo pigmented as you can see, especially the shimmers they are just incredible!
